You might not find the appropriate size of the insect screen. I recommend you just place it over the external air vent, cut it as per the required size, and install it.

If you ask me, then the answer is yes. Let me explain. Window air conditioners don’t have any filters in their air vents; hence when you are not using them, the mosquitoes might enter your house quickly.
Please note that- the air conditioners above 10,000 BTU capacity have or need a fresh air vent that can be used to bring the outside air inside.
Some of the Window Ac takes outside air without passing through any filter, so mosquitoes can take advantage of it.
You might be thinking that what is the solution then?
I suggest you use a washable filter on your fresh air vent, or in case of the open vent, I recommend you to have a closed new air vent to avoid mosquitoes.
Can Mosquitoes Come Through Split Air Conditioners?
You might be having a split Ac or purchasing a split Ac for your home, then you might be thinking that mosquitoes could come through the split Ac in your home?
The answer is No. Mosquitoes can’t come through split AC. The reason is quite simple, the indoor unit and outdoor unit of the split ac are connected with the set of refrigerant pipes.
Hence, as the refrigerant flows inside the refrigerant pipe in a closed loop, there is no space for mosquitoes to come through split air conditioners.
You might have a split ac with a fresh air vent, so I say it will be the same as the central ac or the standard ac. In simple words, mosquitoes can enter your house through fresh air vents.

Are Mosquitoes Attracted to Air Conditioning?

No mosquitoes do not die in the air conditioner rooms. As I told you above, the mosquitoes like humid and warm climates; their optimum temperature is around 27 degrees centigrade, so they do not make much moment such conditions.
However, they do not die in such conditions. You can consider it as they do not move much in such situations as it is not their optimum temperature.
Note– Air conditioning does not kill mosquitoes but stops their moment. You can use your air conditioner to avoid mosquitoes.
Can Bugs Get In Through Central Air Conditioners?
Yes, they can, but it is not a big issue compared to the mosquitoes. As bugs are more significant in size than the mosquito, they usually can’t get through your central air conditioner.
